Folks,
For the past few weeks or so, Textpad has developed the annoying habit of starting up with the "Search Results" window at the bottom, and furthermore, that's the focused window when starting up, so I keep ending up searching for something and not finding it, since the search was conducted in that Search Results window. Same with typing - when you start typing, you're in the Search Results window and cannot type there......
HIGHLY ANNOYING
Is there an option anywhere in the Preferences to ALWAYS SUPPRESS the Search Results window from appearing at startup? I really don't need it until I start searching, IMHO - no need to show it when I load up a document!
If there isn't such an option: please STRONGLY consider one for Textpad 5.2.1 or 5.3 ! Thanks.
Thanks!
Marc

I had the same issue. The bottom line, as far as I can tell, is that if the last TextPad window was closed with the search results pane displayed, then it will get the initial focus when a new TextPad window is opened.
It requires a bit of discipline to remember to close the search results before closing the TextPad window.
