Suggest way to paste and/or search filename + path

It would be helpful to be able to have the filename, extension, path, etc. of the current file available within the file (i.e be able to paste and/or search for).

You can copy the full path and name of the current file to the clipboard with Edit | Copy Other | File Name. (You can assign a shortcut key to that command.) You can paste it wherever you like.

Do you mean Edit/Insert/Filename ?

Actually, I didn't, because I usually want the filename somewhere else, and I forgot about Edit | Insert | File Name.
But you're right, of course: that is what the OP needs.
