Auto-reload does not work for files from Linux?

I used TextPad at my last job, often to open a file on another system and watch the logging spill out. VERY usefull. All systems were Windows there.
New job now, same Textpad 4.7.3, but here the logs I want to watch are on Linux machines, some on Solaris. TextPad sits on my laptop, Windows XP like the other job, but the logs are Linux
I dont get Auto-reload although the options are set for it
Just doesnt do it for Linux files?
