Non-PopUp File Modification Notice

Post by TaiChiKitty »

I work with log files that are getting updated very frequently. I would like to be able to look through a file without having to answer a "The file has changed, would you like to reload it?" popup everytime I use the mouse in TextPad. Much better for me would be a button that changes color and interior shape ( for the colorblind ) when the file is 'dirty'. That way, when I feel the urge to update to the current version of the file I can choose to click that button.

For those who like the current functionality, perhaps give users an either/or choice in the Preferences?

If you don't like it, why don't you just turn it off? When you get that urge to update, use File-Revert. Assign it to a key, if you just want to hit a button.
