Independant or chained views for the same document

Hi all,
I've been thinking of something that may be useful to some programmers... In my opinion, much better than code folding (I've never used it even when available). Switching to a new laptop a couple of months ago, I had no other choice than 16:9 shaped 17" screens. Which is nice for movies but for code reading, not really, cause the wide screen is left with much blank space on the right for us westerner readers.

Today, we have the possibility in TextPad of splitting the current document's view vertically. However, both views scroll together: the same line appears twice... which is once per view.

My suggestion is this: instead of having lines 100-120 displayed in both views (totally useless to me), it would be much better to have 100-120 in the left view and 121-141 in the right view. Choosing between this behavior and the one we currently have would be great. Choosing between linked views (that would scroll as 101-121 and 122-142) and independant views (like in Notepadd++, each view with its own numbering and scroll bar) would be just as great.

I guess it wouldn't be an easy thing to offer, but if it were, that would be another lovely feature to the program.

If this has been already suggested, sorry for the duplication.

P.S. I am still using 4.7.3 cause the upgrade to 5.x made me lose my configuration. I preferred to keep my macros and settings with the old version.
