TextPad 5.0.3 hangs with a long delay when it is closed.

Running on Windows XP. I don't have the same problem with Textpad 4.5.0 on the same PC.

Is there a way to prevent this?

I'm running Textpad 5.03 on windows XP.
I have no problem with Textpad taking a long time to shut down.
I presently have about 30 files open and it is taking textpad less than a second to close.

This happens to me since I've upgraded to 5.2.0 (also happens when 5.2.0 is installed to a clean PC). This does not occur on v4.7.3.

Even if I open Textpad (with no document), and then close it immediately, I get a delay of 3-5 seconds before the app exits.

I've run FileMon and can see that the delay is caused by opening and then writing to...
H:\settings\Application Data\Helios\TextPad\5.0\config.xml

Now H: is a slowish network drive, but not that slow... if I open the above config.xml and save it to the same folder as config1.xml, it saves near enough to instantly. Even a file 10 times the size saves in well under a second.

Is there anyway to tell TextPad to save the config.xml file elsewhere? (It is not an option to move my Application Data folder).

Edit: tsko - is your Application Data folder on the network?
