Help Topics does not work on Vista-64

I upgraded my system to Vista-64 and installed my trusty old TextPad 4.7, and then upgraded it to version 5. I wanted to set TextPad 5 to be the default program for *.java files, but it simply will not set. :( So I then I click on "Help" and then "Help Topics" and got a "Failed to launch" error. Vista pops up a window that says "The Help for this program was created in Windows Help format, which was used in previous versions of Windows and it is not supported in Windows Vista." I tried downloading the program Microsoft recommended, but got no relief. :(

I know that windows help files are no longer supported under vista (.hlp). Our company had to move to .chm files (compiled help) in order to support our Vista customers.

There is no remedy for this, other than to create a new set of help docs in a new target format (i.e. Helios must make the effort)

TextPad is already using a chm file. See if you can start it manually, i.e. double click on C:\Program Files\TextPad 5\system\TxPadEng.chm
