Find and replace bar similar to Firefox or TextMate

I would like the option to have the find and replace dialog boxes to always be available a tool bar at the bottom of the window. The find, replace, and regex options should be available there too.

And while you're at it, you can fix the bug that I reported about 2 or 3 years ago with find, and have posted on one of these forums.
Ok, here it is again.
Find whole word. Close find dialogue. Select something including, say, a full-stop at the end/beginning of the string. Ctrl-f to find it. Doesn't work because internally the 'find whole word' flag is still set, and you can only unset it by F5/bringing up the find dialogue again.
