I've been using TextPad for years without any issues. Suddenly today I noticed that I'm unable to toggle between TextPad and other applications from the status bar.

If I have open say, My Documents, Outlook Express, and Internet Explorer while working in TextPad, I am unable to click them in the status bar to see them. Instead I have to minimize TextPad first.

Any ideas what's causing this?

Is it a one-off occurrence, or do you have this problem all the time now? It may just be a glitch. I have noticed this with other applications too, on very rare occasions, not just TextPad. I usually find restarting the application fixes it, or maybe you need to restart Windows Explorer.

It's recurring all the time now. I've restarted IE, and I've even removed and re-installed Textpad and still, the same problem.

While in TP, press Alt+Space and uncheck Stay on Top.

Bingo! ...that was it.

Configure > Preferences > View > Stay on top of other windows
