Tab is causing issues

Hello, I looked but did not find anything relating to my issue. My OS is XP Professional SP2 and I'm using Textpad 5.0.3: 32-bit edition. My issue is that sometimes when I highlight a block of text and use the Shift+tab keys, Textpad crashes. It doesn't happen all the time and next time it happens, I will capture the stuff it says I can capture and post it here, but I wanted to see if anyone else had faced this issue.
Also, I've had where I highlight a block of text and when I press the tab key, it doesn't indent the text. I tried the menu option to indent the text and it didn't work either. Any thoughts on this?
