How do I get a horizontal ruler?

I need a horizontal toolbar which shows column numbers.
like the vertical toolbar shows line numbers
is there such a thing?

Not currently available in Textpad.

A number of workarounds have been suggested here. Do a search on the forum for "ruler"

I was looking for a horizontal ruler as well.

Then I started to use the column indicator in the status bar.

I get along quite well now without the horizontal ruler.

Your needs may differ from mine but I thought I would mention this as an option.
