Wow, I must say in the 7ish years I've been using TextPad, I've never tried to delete a document class. Adjust the files in the class, sure but remove a whole one, nope. And I can confirm it sure doesn't look like this is possible via the menus you can hit in 4.7 or 5.0

Best recourse I could think of would be to close out all instances of TextPad and then go whack at the registry but I was unable to find where that info is stored.

Well, then maybe you put a syntax file in the system folder with the same name but different content?

Seems to me I tried to do this before and there was an answer....

Isn't this the way to do it?

1. Close all open documents.
2. On the Configure menu, click Preferences.
3. Click Document Classes.
4. Click the class you want to delete.
5. Click the red X.

It's in the help file under How To -> Customize Settings -> Document Classes. The help file doesn't say that you have to close all documents, but it is mentioned in the Preferences dialog itself.
