Check "Start > All Programs > Startup", or, using regedit, look under any of these keys:
HKCU\software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Run
HKLM\software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Run
Also look for shortcuts to textfiles, if these are associated with textpad.

You can disable it by implementing the following procedure in TextPad:
From the Configure menu choose:
1. Preferences
2. General
3. Under the heading "Put shortcuts to TextPad on", uncheck "StartUp menu"
4. Click Apply / OK.
I hope this helps.

I tryied all steps above, no success, so I deinstalled TextPad, clear all directories, links, registers - TextPad is not launched at all - but (!) still I can see in SatrtUp menu links to TextPad after each restart ! I delete all those links and after restart it is again here ! It looks like a Virus, what do you think about it ? Help !

You could try the following. From the Start menu click on Run and type msconfig in the box. When the dialog opens click on the Startup tab. If TextPad appears in the list, untick the box and click Apply.
I hope this helps.

If you believe or not, I have used msconfig to denny TextPad on StartUp, but after Restart I saw in msconfig two instances of Textpad, one previously unchecked, disabled and new one with checked box for startup. It is clear for me, there must be another program runnig at startup, which is creating those links TextPad.lnk in "Start menu" and in "Startup". If I delete those two links, after restart thy are here again. In whole computer, there is no visible part of TextPad software, directory with textPad was after deinstall deleted and registry cleared.
do you see something stange
in msconfig-startup i can see
RTHDCPL RTHDCLP.EXE

After almost 10 years of using TextPad and I don't know how many versions, I cannot remember this happening before. Thanks for the post. It was driving me crazy! Must be this new windows install.
