Cursor line highlight

TextPad 4.6.2

In my previous TP version I was able to have the line the cursor was resting on highlighted in a slightly darker shade than the edit screen color. This enabled me to have two different applications running and click directly on the partly hidden line in TP to modify the code.

Now I cannot highlight the line the cursor is resting on, that line is the same color as the edit screen.

I have searched this forum and found several suggestions, but they were dated 2005 and earlier. The problem with these suggestions is the last option (selection) quoted does not exist in this latest version of TextPad.

Any suggestions on how to recover the cursor line highlight? :?:

This will probably help you out.......

From: http://www.textpad.info/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6483
Try this:

1. From the Configure menu choose Preferences
2. + sign next to Document classes
3. + sign next to Default
4. Colors
5. From the "Item menu", click on "Current line"
6. Click on the arrows next to Foreground and Background, and select White as the color
7. Click Apply
8. Next, click on the arrow next to Background, click on Custom and choose the pale yellow color
9. Click on the arrow next to Foreground and choose the dark yellow from the standard colors
9. Click Apply/ OK

I hope this helps.
Followed by:
The foreground of the Current Line isn't the text, it is the dashed outline. But the Item list doesn't reflect that; it shows dark yellow characters on a light yellow background.

Hello Bob,

I followed your path down to default colors, but in the "Item Menu" there is no "Current Line" option to select.

According to the release notes the Current Line Highlighting was introduced in 4.7.0. (see http://www.textpad.com/support/relnotes.html#v470)

Thank you all for your suggestions the Current Line Highlighting is now working with the download and install of the latest release version.

I had a secondary hard drive acting up and that is where the backup copies of all my download files were stored. I had not noticed that there were later versions of TextPad installed. The secondary hard drive also caused some corrupted files on the primary drive and it had to be reformated.

Thank you all again for your support.
