How To be able to edit an intranet site in Wild Edit

Post by Soteriologist »

The easiest way for Wild Edit to work with a site on your network is to map that folder of the site as a drive on your machine...

It goes without saying, to be able to map the drive/edit files on the site you need permissions to do so (duh).

Browse to the parent folder of your site through your network.

Right click on the folder and choose "Map Network Drive..."

It'll now show up as a "local drive" on your machine under my computer and you'll be able to more quickly access the network location with Wild Edit.

It's the ONLY way I can do edits on my intranet. Being as it's so stinking big, Wild Edit takes forever to try to browse through it.
In fact I've never seen Wild Edit be able to actually accomplish browsing the network.
Wild Edit always times out/freezes when it tries.
