how do it do the following?

i have a list

ACME WAREHOUSE
CYBERELECTRONICS
ENGINES AND SONS and so on

i would like to show only 6 letters from the beginning and the rest convert in dots:

ACME W........
CYBEREL.........
ENGINE. ... ....

But you can do it using a conditional expression in the replacement expression:

Find what: (^.{6})|(.)
Replace with: ?1$1:?2.

Options
[X] '.' does not match a newline character
