1. Can TextPad save its settings in its own directory instead of using the Registry?
2. Can TextPad save the File association settings in it's own directory and after a Windows XP reinstall I can just click "Apply" and it writes the associations into the registry? (WinRAR does this)
3. Can TextPad save user registration information in it's own directory? (Quake3 for instance does this)
I just reinstalled Windows XP 32bit (x64 no good Audigy 2 ZS drivers) and even though I had extracted/inserted
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Helios\TextPad 4\
I still have to set up every file extention again.
Windows gradually deteriorates as programs and drivers are installed, and uninstalled. I prefer programs that put all settings in their own directory, then I can keep them on D:\Programs and not loose a thing should Windows mock up up.
