if you use Multiple Desktops with Power Toys on XP, and a file you are editing in Textpad is modified by another process while you are viewing a different desktop, the pop-up window can open in the visible desktop, not the desktop where Textpad is visible.
Textpad on it's original desktop will "hang" (non-responsive) until this the pop-up is closed.   The pop-up will be on another desktop, perplexing
unless you know to look for it.   Even though the Textpad main window is non-responsive, the Task Manager will report "Running" for Textpad under the Applications tab.Workaround - check for a pop-up on other desktops.
In addition, occasionally Textpad will switch desktops
when opening a document while Textpad is running on a different desktop.   To get it back, I save the workspace and open it on the desired desktop.Hope this helps...
