Small screen format change, if possible.
When selecting multiple rows of text, the "Rows Selected" indicator at the bottom left of the screen seems to begin at screen pixel #1.
This is only a problem when CRT displays are borderline and sometimes a portion of the first digit falls off the screen.
Could you left-pad a space or move the digits a few pixels over?

Hm. When Textpad is maximised, there are 3 Pixels between the edge of screen and the start of the number.
When not maximised, there are even more pixels.

So if portions of the number are not visible for you, your monitor hides at least 4 pixels.

IMO, you should correct your monitor settings - not ask for the software to be changed.
With other words:
the broken part should be repaired, not the working part.
