Is there any way to modify the amount of previous searches are stored in the drop down? I sometimes spend 10 minutes or so putting together a complex regular expression and try to recall it, but it's gone.

Howdy,
The current work around would be to save things like that to a clip book but to the best of my knowledge there is no way to retrieve more than X searches/replaces.
