License File Problem

Post by c_dewitt »

I have been useing TextPad 4.6 for several years with no problme but I recently switched to a new computer running WinXP Pro sp2. I installed TextPad and copied the license file to the install directory but I still get the nag popup.

Any idea what could cause this?

Thanks

When you say
copied the license file to the install directory
do you mean that you physically moved the file there? I believe you need to open TextPad, select the registration menu item and paste the contents of the licence file into the window.

This should do it.

Problem Solved

Ok, I had an old readme file and an old .lic file from a 3.x version of TextPad. I found the updated license email and everything is fine.

That's what happens when you use the same computer for 5 years, you have old junk floating around and you forget the install details

Thanks,
