Hello,

I wanted to use WildEdit on a large number ( 10.000+ )of linux files to change a path.

Every time a file was found containing the old path, I got the following error:
Character conversion: Illegal input sequence/combination of input units.

When I open the file in textpad and look at the document properties I find the following:
Code set: Ansi
File type: Unix

But I can not find this in the wildedit user interface.

Can Anyone help me??

I found the same topic when searching.

My problem is than that the encoding cannot be changed.
If it is changed the program will not run.

Is there a way to add support for ANSI UNIX in WildEdit?

It is undoable for me to convert everything from ansi to utf8 and than after replacing from utf8 to ANSI.

I thought that I might be missing something going over the UI of wildedit, because there is support for it in textpad.
