Banned for mentioning the feature of another text editor?

Just received a message from an admin that I'd be banned if I mentioned another text editor again in any post. Yet throughout the forum are recent comparisons to other text editors. Did anyone else receive the same private message or are forums not really "open" for discussion? I don't see how TextPad suffers from honest, critical feedback. Even though TextPad has been recently mentioned as abandonware, other popular text editors — NoteTab and EditPlus — have also not been updated in years. It's not trolling to ask that TextPad be upgraded and urge Helios to include features that another text editor currently has, or is it?
