Newbie to Java and Textpad

I've just finished writing my first basic program.
When a user has finished the program I've used
EasyIn.pause("Please press <ENTER> to exit:");
On pressing enter text pad automatically displays
"Press and key to continue........"
Is there anyway of disabling this?
