Problem Installing Textpad on PC without Internet Connection

I need to use Textpad on someone else's PC this weekend and this PC is not connected to the Internet. When I try to install Textpad on this PC (Win 98 operating system) I get the following error message:

"An error occurred while downloading the file http://download.microsoft.com/download/ ... stmsia.exe. What would you like to do?"

Good question. I went onto the Microsoft site and tried to download the file onto a machine that is connected to the Internet, but I can only seem to find WindowsInstaller version 3, not version 2, and 3 does not seem to work on Win 98. I also don't know whether installing Windows Installer locally on the machine would rectify the problem.

If anyone can suggest how to get around this problem and where I can download any necessary files, I would be very grateful. Connecting this PC to the Internet is not an option unfortunately.

Thank you very much in advance.

An "I'm Feeling Lucky" Google search for "Windows Installer 2.0 98" should take you straight there.

The URL that TextPad's installer uses to download Windows Installer for Win9x is:

http://download.microsoft.com/download/WindowsInstaller/Install/2.0/W9XMe/EN-US/InstMsiA.exe

The default location used by InstallShield is :

http://www.installengine.com/cert03/Msiengine/InstMsiA.exe
