hi,
when I go into textpad it displays a graphic for a second, with the word "TextPad". The graphic then disappears.
How do I prevent the graphic from appearing at all? i.e. remove the splash screen?

Configure - Preferences - General
Uncheck "Display Startup Logo".

AFAIR you must be a registered user to have that option.
