I loaded a very large file, saved under new name, deleted all but 1000 lines, tried to re-save and was told I had a file sharing error. In order to save the revised file, I had to rename it. Now just who was I sharing the file with that it could not be saved again??

Where did you save the file?

Local disk?
Network drive?
Maybe even a server with a non-windows-OS?

I saved in local folder, same place I had been doing other work.

interestingly enuf, I often edit big log files like the way you edit them but I've never encountered such error. COuld it be your OS? Have you checked your file's property/permission see if there is anything werid about it?

I can see NO reason in my XP environment for this to have occurred. I did workaround with rename, but am curious.
