A Column Ruler Across the Top

It would be a great adition (IMHO) if TextPad offered a ruler across the top of the page to show the column numbers.

I have the following "ruler" in my Clip Library which comes in handy at times:
................1................2................3...............4................5................6...............7
1234567890123456789012345678901234567890123456789012345678901234567890
The display on the forum is misleading,but the top row has the digits spaced so that they are directly above the "0" on the line below, representing 10, 20, 30, etc.

Bob, a small tip:
if you use "Code" instead of "Quote", the whitespace will be preserved and a monospace font is used:

tlapaso, the column number where the cursor sits is displayed in the status bar (I know it is not a real replacement for a ruler, but at least a small help)

Thanks MudGuard. I have been in the habit of using "Quote" and never think of "Code". Maybe I can change some old habits.
