I really wondered why TextPad does not include "Select All" option when we right click anywhere inside the main window. Why? Why??? Isn't that a standard option used by so many applications in this world??

By the way.. I don't really understand what are the new features in TexPad 4.73. Do I really need to upgrade? By the way... I believe that Select All option still not available at this moment, :(

You can see the release notes here http://textpad.com/support/relnotes.html
it's not there in version 473, try clicking three times on the left margin, the line numbers if you got them on. HTH

triple click?? it didn't work, :(

So far, TextPad is just great!! It uses so little computer resources but yet it is still powerful Text Editor that has great features. It's just that this little thing kept me feel uncomfortable with TexPad, :(

Ctrl-A usually does a select-all.

If it doesn't for you, then you can configure Textpad so it does.

Btw, triple click in the left margin does "select all" for me.

yeah I know that ctrl-A does Select All as any other text applications do. But isn't it common for us to right-click inside the text and select any options from there.

By the way, triple click would satisfy me at least if it could Select All but it just couldn't, :(.

Do I have to set this anywhere first??

Thanks.

Sorry, this is entirely my fault regarding the three mouse clicks.
I'm using a non-default setting under Configure->Preferences->Editor, where I have ticked "Use Microsoft's conventions for mouse click selections". I hope this helps.

It might be common for you, but certainly is not common for us (as it is not common for me) - I very rarely use the context menu in Textpad - keyboard shortcuts are much faster for me.

Anyway I still think that it will be good if TextPad can include this option in its future release. This is due to the fact that TextPad is actually meant to be an alternative to the native Windows Notepad. So since Notepad's right-click options got Select All, so should does TextPad.

I could not agree more!

PLEASE ADD IT!

For all of the others that do not use it, it will not bother them when it is added.

But for those of us that use it in every other application we have, it will be very useful!
