Disable UTF8 Auto Detection

Could you please have a look at the problem described
in the last postings of the topic
General --> Textpad and UTF8 error
The problem is that the UTF8 Auto Detect Feature SHOULD BE disabled
(but it IS NOT disabled) when ANSI encoding is selected in the FILE OPEN dialog.
This would it make possible to edit the ASCII parts of a UTF8 file
containing characters that are not contained in the current codepage,
without loosing those characters.
I consider it a bug, so I would appreciate it if you would accept it as
"Known Problem", but you may also treat it as "Enhancement Suggestion".
May be a workaround would be to use an old version of TextPad that
didn't support UTF8.
I don't know which version would be suitable neither where to get it from.
For the moment, I have to do the job with other editors.
As the files I have to work on are in Unix format (LF only),
notepad fails and I use vi or vim instead.
