Apply a file of regular expressions to the current document

I would like to do this: create a file that contains several regular expressions. Then, from an open document, somehow select to have that file of regexes be applied to the document. For instance, several substitutions, which amounts to doing several search and replaces with one command.

Similarly, have a perl script applied to the open document.
