Open file in "log mode"

Post by pier »

Have you ever analyzed long log files (eg Apache's log files, syslog, etc.), continuosly updated, with TextPad? In those situations, three features would be extremely useful:
1) An option to avoid the annoying "another application has updated your file, do you want to reload" dialog box. Could be a option to automatically allow all updates or block any updates until unblocked later.
2) In case of automatic update, an option to scroll always to the last line or to leave on the current (like now).
3) A third option, especially useful with those log files with many similar lines, would be to temporarily color the lines of the last update. For example if an automatic update is composed of the three lines 100-102, TexPad colour them in red. In the next update, that will add the lines 103-104, the previous three lines return to normal color and the new ones (2) get the red color, and so on.
