Is it possible? I want to compare two similar areas in the same file.

Try using the Split command from the Window menu, but make sure that Synchronized scrolling is not enabled on the Configure menu.

Yes, it's right there on the config pull-down. But it only works in one direction. What I had in mind was 2 vertical views of the same file but in different places. This would greatly facilitate cloning repetitive code or checking for small differences. I resolved the problem by making a copy of the file and opening it in a new window. Not very efficient but it will have to do, I gusee, until the next update. You think?

That's a good idea to open a copy of the file. Then tile vertically.
