Tools - Option to sort command window output automatically

Would it be possible to have the option of automatically applying a simple sort to the output command window after running a tool?
Basically: Add a check box to the tool property page which does the equivalent of an F9 on the command window after the tool has executed.
You currently cannot sort the command window which is kind of annoying.
