I regularly modify both Unix and PC formated files using Textpad. 4.4.2. However, sometimes I need to change Unix formated files to PC format. This usually works fine using the Save options, but every now and again. The saved files get corrupted such that if I reload them half of the text has been replaced by squares. The squares only fill up the top line of the file but half of the file has dissappeared. Is this just a problem with my version of Textpad or is there a particular character in the file that could be causing this?
I'v put up with the problem for a while but just recently I lost a major chunk of code that I didn't have a back up for so I thought I would look for a solution. I think the same problem could be causing MSDEV to crash when I edit the same files.
