Tomcat Server Integration w. Textpad

Hi all, I am Steve Burrus, and I have been using textpad for some time now to write/execute Java Servlets!! And, I recently got/obtained a newer version of tomcat, namely version 5.0.19 of it!
Well, my main question is : I keep getting a Java compiler error message indicating that the "javax.servlet.*" and the "javax.servlet.http.*" packages were not available!! Now, in the past in older versions of tomcat, there was a "servlets-api.jar" file which I would copy into the "Common\Lib" folder of my tomcat installation , but after getting this newer version of tomcat, (Incidentally, there is no "servlets-api.jar" file in this newer version) all that I seem to get are those kind of compiler errors. Can someone please help me out of this seemingly hopeless dilemma that I seem to find myself in right now. I would very much appreciate it. And, I will go ahead and apologize if this isn't the right discussion forum to post this kind of an appeal for help/assistance on. This is my 1ST TIME to post to this group.
