This is very likely not a TP bug, but since TP is the only program I am using where it happens I mention it here for possible clues.

Very recently when I am typing, especially when typing the letters 'th' and 't' an extraneous '0' is being inserted. I have observed carefully for a while, and this is not my fingers taking a wild excursion.

Recent events that may be related: installed several new programs, installed most recent W2k updates; reconfigured Norton Antivirus to scan only e-mail (Auto-protect off).

Anyone 0eel <---- so not just 0tt<--- not just TextPad (this just happened as I was typing th0tis<--- has not occurred this often previously.

Cross fingers, I think this has been solved. One of the new things I did was to upgrade my video card driver and that seems to have altered my keyboard settings towards the rapid fire end. I slowed things down a bit and things seem to be going ok now.

EDIT: for the record I need to correct this in the very unlikely case someone else encounters it. The real cause appears to have been a result of my backup method. Using Ghost, I clone my C partition (devoted exclusively to the OS) and my E partition (devoted to utilities, such as TextPad) to a SCSI drive. This has previously been read as a dual boot system with the original C: Drive "0" and the SCSI drive, "#1" re-lettered to "M" and the #1 Utilities partition relettered to "N", without problems. This time something happened that caused my desktop shortcut to TextPad on the "0" OS to be mapped to the "N" partition. Some kind of confusion there was the likely cause of some problems. I hope.

Problem solved so far by disconnecting the power to the SCSI drive, probably a good idea anyway...and I get to install a toggle switch!
