syntax def-restrict to start of line

I'm in the middle of setting up a new .syn file
One of my keywords is 'tabs'.
However it's only a keyword when it's at the start of a line.
Otherwise it's a normal word not requiring any coloring.
Can this be done ? (I have ver 4.5.0)
