Recent file list - file name in status bar

Files that are listed in the recent file list in the File menu often have their file name abbreviated.
e.g. D:\folder\...\folder\file.txt

The full file name should appear in the status bar.

Hm - do I miss something?

When the name is too long to fit into the document selector, it is displayed as a "tooltip" for me when the mousepointer is hovering the name.

I don't think it's possible to implement this suggestion at all.

What happens when a pointer hovers over a menu item is Windows' business, not an application's, surely?

Not the document selector, I mean the recently used files portion of the File menu.

That's true, but the application has control over what Windows displays in the status bar. Why can't TextPad give Windows the full path of the file unstead of just "Open this document"?

Whoa! I spoke without checking there. It seems you are right. I withdraw my comment. In that case, this is a good idea.

Sorry for posting without thinking.

Anyone know if there's a poll for this feature somewhere yet?
