I love this feature; however, the actual highlight is very faint on my display. Is there a way to make it more prominent?

Yes there is,

Go into Tools->prefferences and under Document Classes choose the document class you are working with (If you are just edinting text files then open "default" class). Next look under Colors and change the colors of the "Current Line". I hope it works for you!

PS: You might want to do the same thing in some of the other document classes that you use (like Text or HTML).

I think TP should also have the virticle (column) highlight. I imagine something like this.
