Is there any way to get textpad to read/save files in Japanese JIS or S-JIS format?

Files are read and saved with Shift-JIS encoding, when the font script for their document class is set to Japanese. Before you can do that, you'll need to install Japanese language support using Regional and Language Options on Control Panel. Then, you will be able to select a font such as MS Mincho, and set its script to Japanese.
