Check Spelling Configuration

Hi,

I've been using Textpad since 2001 when my Java instructor turned us on to it. I've used it everyday since then for my daily web development tasks and I swear by it to every developer I talk to.

This time around I've had to re-install it on my new computer and re-configure all the settings I had for different document classes and such. Well I think I must have tried to configure the spell checker and screwed it up somehow. It doesn't catch any misspelled words. What would I have to do to get it back to the default settings.

Right now as it stands the program is pretty useless if the spell checker doesn't work.

Thanks,
-xDev

Check your Preferences (Ctrl-Q, P) -> Spelling. If the settings there look fine, check the main page, toward the bottom, of your document classes.

Thanks for the reply. The appropriate options are checked in the document classes. I just figured out what's happening. It's related to my syntax definitions. Here's a screenshot of some funky happenings:

This syntax breaks at the apostrophe, it's from an add-on I got from here: php4html.syn

I don't know I'm really confused in how to configure this properly. I had it running fine for nearly 3 years and then my pc had to go and die on me, now I'm kind of lost as to how I managed to have it running so smoothly before.

I'm using the same syn file, php4html.syn, with TP ver 4.7.2 and my
syntax coloring looks very diffrent from your example.
In your example the <p> tag and other words in a string are highlighted diffrently.
Looks like the file you are editing does not belong to the class in which you
use php4html.syn. Check your file ending and make sure it's in the correct class.
Files with PHP and HTML endings are by default under the HTML class.
