Just ran a cross this on Computerworld.
Headline says it all: Study: Windows 98 prevalent as end of support looms.

Good news for all you Win98/me'ers out there, but now it
looks like MS will support you for 2 more years.

In a statement, Microsoft said it has an overall policy now to support products for seven years. It will also provide security updates for the operating environments.

I wonder just how many upgraded to WinXP because of this in the last two
months or so. Now it looks like it's possible use Win98/me until the release of
Longhorn, and stay up to date on security.
