Printing WYSIWYG

O.K. I give up. I have been struggling to configure my preferences in order to insure that what I see on the screen is what gets printed on my HP inkjet printer.

If I confine a line of characters to less than column 80 (perhaps 77) on the screen and then print the file I get word wrap. I want all 77 characters on the line to print on one line on the paper. I have tried all sorts of typefaces with no luck and do not see how to set my preferences so that I can achieve my goal. I am using TP ver 4.7.0

Right click inside the document and on the pop-up menu select properties, select the printing tab under Options deselect the word wrap long lines checkbox. This can also be done for an entire document class if you'd rather.

Thanks for the reply. It partially solved the problem. I created a document with a text file with a "ruler" on it. On a row I placed a string of numbers '12345678901234567890....' from the left edge to column 80. Above it I placed a 1 or 2 or 3 ... over each 0 by spacing (not tabbing) to the zero and placing the appropriate number. By unsetting wordwrap as you suggested, the '1234567890...' string prints OK but the '0123... line does not. The numbers are not spaced over the 0s as on the document. The spacing is 6 between them not 10. I am using courier font 10 pitch. Whats up?

Odd.
I did exactly what you described and my printing looks identical to what my display shows.

Not to be difficult, but would you verify that the font that is selected for printing is the same as your display? It sounds like the fonts are different.

I suppose you could take the first few lines from your file and post it here, see if anyone else can reproduce your results. *shrug*

I did the same thing as T above and came up with the same results and think his suspicion is the likely answer.

Also focus on your term "10-pitch" which is a typewriter term and was connected to variable-spaced lettering on the selectric...some typeface you have installed that is supposed to imitate that? Try Courier New or Courier without any other modifying terms.
