DDE, How to Link to Windows program?

I am using a graph program called "DPLOT". I can Link this program to Windows Excel with no problems. However I can not seem to get TextPad to Link to DPLOT! I have tried the recomendations in the Help file, with no luck! I need to use Textpad as a real time editor so I can monitor the changes in DPLOT.
