Hm. After Install and Reboot (Textpad wanted to reboot to change settings) Textpad is running. But it still says 4.7.1 in Help - About Textpad
Ok, I checked the exe - it is from 26th August 2003 - the time when I installed 4.7.1...
A second attempt brought up the option to repair or modify or remove...
I decided to remove. Funny thing: After remove was complete, I could choose to launch Textpad ;-)
After removing, I installed again and only then did I have 4.7.2 in the About box...

I get the sama results as
MudGuard when upgrading. Uninstall fixes it.
Also
this is still an issue, bug?, TP is converting spaces to tabs when
Increase Indent is used.

Thanks for reporting this problem. The version stamp in the .EXE file had not been updated, so MSI did not overwrite the old file. Uninstalling and reinstalling will fix it, or you can download and run the setup program again. Explorer now shows the file version stamp for textpad.exe as 4.0.7.2, and that is the only difference.
Apologies for any inconvenience this has caused.

no problem - I was able to solve it.
And the main reason why I reported it was to give other users a hint.
And: I just downloaded and installed at home - I got 4.7.2 without any of the above problems...

We had bought several licenses of Textpad because we all 65 Java developers love it so much. We use VAJ (Visual Age for Java) in our Java development but for quick and easy java development and XML and HTML nothing beats Textpad.
