problems with "current line" with black background

Post by Steve-o »

In version 4.7.1, I have a problem with the new "current line" color options. I like having those dashed lines above and below my current line, but I don't want the line itself to be highlighted in a different color. So, I set the current line background to the same as the window background, and the current line foreground to the color I want my little dashed lines. But... this seems not to work when the background color is black. My dashed lines become black, too, meaning I have no knowledge of their presence, except for when the tops and bottoms of tall letters on the current line disappear, eclipsed by the wrongly-black dashes. Is there a way around this? Is it a bug?

The dashed lines can overwrite parts of font glyphs (e.g. underscores and accents), so are painted in a special mode that makes the font color dominant. However, it only works with white backgrounds, so changing the background color for the current line is the only option, if you want to stick with a black background.
