HI:

I have a tool that creates an output file. THis output file name is controlled by the results of ["$File" "$prompt(paste 1st filename)" ] in the Parameters text box.

So, when I execute the tool it prompts me for an output file name, then runs, and I can view the execution results in the TextPad window.

What I'd LIKE to do is then have the output file AUTOMATICALLY open up in TextPad.

Is this possible.

WAG here, but if you have TP set to only one instance, you can have your generating application launch TP with the newly made file as a parameter. If your app won't allow that, you can always have TP call a batch file that passes the parameters to your app then kick off TP.
