I would like to have the ability to apply a Document Class syntax to an unsaved file. I often cut and paste SQL code from a database directly into TextPad for modification without desiring to save it to a file and would like the ability see a specified syntax applied.

Right click anywhere in your document, select properties and
there you will find the syntax tab. You can also set the default
syntax as you like under
Configure->Preferences->Document Classes->Text.

Edit: hmm, the default seems to be for the document class text,
not document class default.
