Moving within the command window as it's updating

It would be nice if the command window worked like many others where you can move around in it as it's updating. Textpad seems to continuously move you to the bottom on every update. Other editors I've used will only stay at the bottom if you move to the bottom otherwise they let you move around freely without pushing you to the end.
